The third generation of a 28 Palestinian families, confronts the Israeli occupation of their homes which seeks to pursue them in their second asylum from their homes in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood to establish the settlement of "Shimon Hatzidek" with the support of hundreds of soldiers and the laws of military ethnic cleansing

Besieged by hundreds of Israeli soldiers, the Palestinian families in Shiekh Jarrah were kicked out of their homes to be replaced by Jewish settlers from overseas upon the verdict of the Israeli occupation supreme court.

A popular resistance movement erupted and led by the Palestinian youth of Jerusalem, the Israeli forces are brutally oppressing this movement while providing support and safety to the illegal settlers to continue the drastic scene of colonial settlement of Palestine

The neighborhood is overcrowded by Israeli settlers and soldiers but cyber space is the only escape for Palestinians to seek solidarity with their desire to freedom and safety condemning the ethnic cleansing against the Palestinians, and so the Hashtag of #SaveSheikhJarrah was born and went popular on the web as it became the main tag of the battel over Jerusalem and the whole of Palestine.

The occupation is forced to postpone the court's decision on May 6th , in an attempt to contain the popular confrontations and the campaign of international solidarity, yet  the digital realm continues to provide cradle for the intifada and it’s rage against the land thieves.

The digital engagements of the Hashtag are dimmed by the shock caused by the madness of the war on Gaza Strip... Thousands of tons of missiles destroyed homes and killed hundreds of innocent civilians

The Israeli occupation is brutally oppressing the Palestinians on the whole map not only Gaza specially the Palestinians of the 48 regions because of their solidarity with their fellow Palestinians in sheikh Jarrah and in Gaza

.

The Memory of Nakba day, (The Palestinian exodus in 1948) comes within the middle of an overwhelming uprising against the apartheid of the Israeli occupation and the policies of ethnic cleansing. The digital resistance and solidarity escalate

All of historical Palestine, from the river to the sea, announced a unified general strike for the first time since 1936. The public space is closed by the Israeli army, while the digital space opens to escalate the pace of solidarity throughout the world. And the occupation continues to strike brutally on the ground.

The occupation fails to restrain the popular confrontations throughout Palestine and to impose a gesture of control, declares a cease-fire on Gaza. The digital space celebrates the victory of the morally oppressed

The war on Gaza erupted in May 10th ...

Hundreds of Palestinian civilians killed and injured due to the Israeli bombing and shelling , destroying tens of residential buildings and leaving many causalities under rubble.

The Hashtag first peak was in May 12th , two days from the beginning of the massacre

The Nakba day memory in 15th of May followed by the great strike in May 18th, made another peak in the Hashtag timeline as the memory of Palestinian exodus in 1948 is a symbol of suffering and agony for the Palestinians.

The Palestinians considered the May 18th strike a great incidence because it was the first time since 1936, all Palestinians in historical Palestine act politically as one nation despite the ethnographic segregation policies of Israel.

Protesting peacefully against the brutal war on Gaza , Bier Zait university students were shot by the Israeli army machine guns

Fadi Washaha was shot by the Israeli soldiers and was left bleeding for more than two hours

His Funeral in the 3rd of June ignited the Hashtag again into another peak on the web, the young man was killed in cold blood just because he protested against the Israeli ethnic cleansing against the Palestinians ...

The war on Gaza stopped. But the threats and repression in Sheikh Jarrah did not stop. The occupation arrested journalists, trying to diminish the voice of Palestine and extinguish the solidarity campaigns that swept worldwide capitals, universe and all social media platforms

The occupation announces the new government. Activists respond with a new peak of the hashtag #savesheikhjarah to become a virtual symbol that rejects the occupation and all its institutions.

A digital campaign led by a hashtag, exposed the ethnic cleansing mentality of the Israeli occupation in an unprecedented way over the past 73 years.   united the Palestinian people.   besieged the occupation in the collective conscience of the world.

The residents of the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood are still threatened with deportation by the force of the occupation. But the hashtag “save sheikh jarrah” will make the occupation, its residents and institutions pay dearly

May be one of the factors in defeating the occupation in the future has started with Sheikh Jarrah hashtag
